About Professor Mohamed Roshan MRCP MRCGP MBBS MBChB
My principal role is as a chair and director of medical research and practice. Medicine is a field in which there are
inevitably a wide range of very distinct specialist interests, who can often get in one another’s way when projects call for
working across disciplines or providers. My expertise is in finding ways to collect the relevant parties together, generate
working documents that suit everyone involved, and find ways to align activities and specialties so that they support rather than problematise one another.
I chair several companies focused on the provision of primary care services, focused on extended services in the
primary care setting. These include the Across Leicester Health foundation, which integrates services across 9 practices and 45,000 patients in the Leicester area, and LLR PCL, a provider company comprised of 90 GP practices in the
Leicestershire and Rutland area, where we have recently won a bid to run 4 general practice surgeries in partnership with
Derby Health (DHU), as well as a Walk in Centre in Leicester.
My major clinical interests are in the fields of Cardiovascular medicine and Diabetes. I was the integrated care lead
for NHS Diabetes and diabetes commissioning lead for Leicester PCT for over a decade. This work continues with research projects in collaboration with the University of Leicester and De Montfort University.
